Cowboys DE Randy Gregory Reportedly Fails Yet Another Drug Test

Update:

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was about a recent report from TMZ Sports that suspended DE Randy Gregory failed yet another drug test back on February 21.

“I would be very skeptical,” Jones said, via the Star-Telegram.

Jones added that Gregory has a lot of support from the team and they’re comfortable with him moving forward.

“That’s just not right,” Jones said. “He is getting a lot of support. He is not void in any way. He’s got in my mind a better method of support than he had most of last year. I’m very comfortable with his support and we are trying to stay in communication with him.

TMZ Sports, citing multiple people with direct knowledge of the situation, reports Cowboys suspended DE Randy Gregory failed yet another drug test which occurred on February 21.

Gregory tested positive for weed and was informed of the failed test on March 2.

According to TMZ, Gregory’s friends are “deeply concerned for his well-being,” as he has reportedly blown off the NFL officials who tried to discuss the situation with him.

People connected to Gregory tell TMZ that this may very well be the end of his NFL career. Gregory’s agent, Deryk Gilmore, says he no longer represents Randy.

Gregory is currently serving a suspension for a failed drug test and will miss the entire 2017 season. It’s unclear how this new failed test will affect his status.

Gregory, 24, is a former second-round pick of the Cowboys back in May of last year. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $3.814 million contract that includes $1.404 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $525,000 for the 2016 season.

In 2016, Gregory appeared in two games for the Cowboys and recorded nine tackles and a sack.

We’ll have more regarding Gregory as the news is available.
