Cowboys DE Randy Gregory In Process Of Applying For Reinstatement

David Moore of the Dallas Morning News reports that the representatives for Cowboys DE Randy Gregory are in the process of applying for reinstatement in the NFL on behalf of their client.

According to Moore, there are still steps for Gregory’s reps to take before he can go before NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to petition for his reinstatement. However, Moore’s sources say Gregory is doing well and adhering to his program.

Cowboys executive VP Stephen Jones at the Combine that they plan to move forward as if Gregory wouldn’t be with the team for the upcoming season, but Moore seems to think they would find a place or him if he’s reinstated by the NFL.

Last we heard regarding Gregory, his attorney, Daniel B. Moskowitz, said that his client has “every intention of getting back on the football field.

“Given the sensitivity of this matter, confidentiality of the program and Randy’s privacy, I am unable to comment,” Moskowitz, said. “However, I will confirm Randy has every intention of getting back on the football field.

 

Gregory wound up missing the entire 2017 season while serving a suspension for a failed drug test.

Gregory, 25, is a former second-round pick of the Cowboys back in May of last year. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $3.814 million contract that includes $1.404 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $705,000 for the 2018 season.

In 2016, Gregory appeared in two games for the Cowboys and recorded nine tackles and a sack.
