Cowboys DE Randy Gregory To Play In Week 7

Rand Getlin of NFL Network is told by “multiple” sources that second-round rookie DE Randy Gregory will play in Week 7 against the Giants.

  • Getlin claims that his return for Week 7 has been the team’s plan “for some time now.”

Gregory, 22, went down with a high-ankle sprain in Week 1 and was given a 4-6 week timetable for recovery, so there shouldn’t be a large surprise that he will play this Sunday.

With Greg Hardy having served his suspension and DeMarcus Lawrence playing well, it seems unlikely that Gregory will start. Regardless, he is sure to earn valuable snaps in his first game back from injury.

During his two years at Nebraska, Gregory recorded 120 tackles, 25.5 tackles for a loss, 17.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, four pass defenses and one defensive touchdown.

Many scouts viewed Gregory as a top 10 talent coming out of college, but he fell to the second-round due to off-the-field issues.
