Cowboys Discussing Possibility Of Bringing Back S Barry Church

Jane Slater of NFL Media reports that while the Cowboys haven’t reached out to S Barry Church about returning to Dallas, they are discussing the possibility of bringing him back if he clears waivers.

Todd Archer adds that the Cowboys’ interest in Church is more “due diligence,” than anything else.

The Jaguars made the decision to waive Church on Friday.

Church, 30, wound up signing on with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Toledo back in 2010. He played out his rookie contract and later signed a four-year extension with Dallas.

The Jaguars signed Church to a four-year, $26 million contract that included $12 million last year. He stands to make base salaries of $5.75 million and $6.25 million over the next two years of the agreement.

In 2018, Church has appeared in 11 games for the Jaguars and recorded 38 tackles, one sack, an interception and two pass defenses.
