Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Cowboys DT Maliek Collins suffered a broken foot on Thursday while participating in the offseason conditioning program.

According to Rapoport, there isn’t a clear timetable for Collins to return at this point in time.

The Cowboys are reportedly in talks to bring back DT Terrell McClain, so this news could lead to Dallas getting him under contract at some point in the near future.

Collins, 23, is a former third-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2016. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $3,550,180 contract and stands to make base salaries of $755,000 and $851,528 over the final two years of the agreement.

In 2017, Collins appeared in all 16 games for the Cowboys and recorded 21 tackles, two sacks and two fumble recoveries. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 114 interior defender out of 122 qualifying players.
