Cowboys Re-Signing CB Morris Claiborne To A One-Year Deal

Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports that the Cowboys are expected to re-sign CB Morris Claiborne to a one-year deal.

  • Todd Archer reports that Claiborne’s one-year deal has a base value of $3 million and maxes out at $3.75 million.

Claiborne, 26, is a former first-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2012. Dallas elected to not pick up his fifth-year option last May, which wasn’t all that surprising, considering that he has yet to come close to living up to expectations.

In 2015, Claiborne appeared in 11 games for the Cowboys and recorded 37 tackles, no interceptions and seven pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 104 cornerback out of 111 qualifying players.
