Cowboys Frustrated With Rookie CB Morris Clayborne

ESPN’s Ed Werder reports that the Dallas Cowboys are “frustrated” with first-round pick CB Morris Claiborne because of unwillingness to play through injuries deemed to be minor.

Cowboys VP Stephen Jones is able to change that mentality in the near future. Claiborne has been absent from practice the last five days with a minor sprained MCL, this after having missed the entire offseason while recovering from wrist surgery.

Dallas used all of their available resources to upgrade their defensive backs, so it’s definitely concerning to not have one of them participating in practice and the preseason. With that being said, Claiborne is an investment who possesses serious talent at an increasing valuable position. If he’s really dealing with a sprained ligament in his knee, it would probably be a better idea for the Cowboys front office to allow him to heal before questioning his toughness through the media.
