Cowboys Hosted S Robert Blanton For Visit

Todd Archer of ESPN reports that the Cowboys hosted S Robert Blanton for a visit on Monday.

The Cowboys are clearly value shopping for defensive backs at this point in free agency now that they’ve lost CB Morris Claiborne, CB Brandon Carr, S J.J. Wilcox and S Barry Church in free agency.

Blanton, 27, is a former fifth-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft by the Vikings. He played out his rookie contract with the Vikings before signing a one-year, $840,000 deal with the Bills back in March of last year.

Blanton’s 2016 season came to an end after he was placed on injured reserve back in November.

In 2016, Blanton appeared in 10 games for the Bills and recorded 35 total tackles and no other statistics.
