Cowboys Hosting DL Jason Jones For A Visit

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Cowboys are bringing in free agent DL Jason Jones for a visit, as they’re still in the market for an edge rusher.

Since the free agent market opened over three weeks ago, Jones has met with the Steelers and Dolphins.

Jones, 29, is a former second-round pick of the Titans back in 2008. He played out his rookie contract with Tennessee and signed a free agent deal with the Seahawks. However, he spent just a year in Seattle before signing with the Lions the following year.

Jones is currently among the best available defensive linemen in the free agent market.

In 2015, Jones appeared in 15 games for the Lions and recorded 31 tackles, 4.5 sacks, a forced fumble and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 43 edge rusher out of 110 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Best Available Free Agents list.
