Cowboys Interested In Adding Veteran CB’s Like Cortland Finnegan

According to a report from ESPN Dallas, the Cowboys seem interested in bringing in a veteran cornerback.  One of the players rumored to be targeted by Dallas, is Titans CB Cortland Finnegan.

Finnegan, now a free agent was with the Titans since 2006, put up some solid numbers last season after recording 473 tackles and 14 interceptions. Although he has proven to be a durable player with pro bowl ability, there are some questions about his character, as displayed by his constant scuffles with  players around the league, most recently with Texans WR Andre Johnson.

The Cowboys have also been rumored to have interest in Chiefs CB Brandon Carr who has been a difference maker in a Kansas City secondary that had lost their best young player in Eric Berry.  Carr finished the season with 58 tackles and 4 picks, and 13 pass deflections, which are all productive numbers.

As stated in the article,“Cowboys officials can’t speak with the agents for both players until the free agency period starts. But as of now the front office has some interest in these veteran players with the hopes of bolstering their secondary.”

It’s still too early to tell, which direction the Cowboys will go in but come the beginning of the free agency period, expect them at least make a run at one of these two play makers.
