Cowboys K Dan Bailey Expected To Miss Several Weeks With Groin Injury

Update:

Ian Rapoport reports that Cowboys K Dan Bailey is expected to miss several weeks with a groin strain.

This doesn’t come as a big surprise, considering that Dallas is already bringing in a group of free agent kickers for tryouts this week including Mike Nugent, Jason Myers, Sam Irwin Hill and Younghoe Koo. (NFLTR)

According to the Cowboys’ radio broadcast (per Todd Archer), K Dan Bailey left Sunday’s game against the 49ers with a groin injury and has been ruled out for the remainder of the contest.

Cowboys S Jeff Heath has replaced Bailey as the team’s kicker.

Bailey, 29, wound up signing on with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma State back in 2011. He’s currently in the fourth year of his seven-year, $22.5 million contract that included $7.5 million guaranteed and stands to make base salaries of $3.2 million and $3.4 million over the next two years of the agreement.

Entering today’s game, Bailey had appeared in five games for the Cowboys and converted all seven field attempts to go along with 14 of 14 extra point tries.
