Cowboys Kris Richard Interviewing With Buccaneers, Dolphins & Jets Sunday

Following Saturday’s win over the Seahawks, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones confirmed that defensive play-caller Kris Richard will interview for the Buccaneers, Dolphins and Jets head-coaching jobs on Sunday.

“It doesn’t surprise me at all that clubs have the interest that they have in him,” Jones told reporters after the game, per Todd Archer. “There are no secrets in the NFL when it comes to people that can help you win football games. And he’s a winner. He is a winner. And he’s made a big impact on our team here which is amazing considering he’s just been here starting in the spring. But he’s obviously a very qualified individual if you’re looking for a head coach.

It’s worth mentioning that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross traveled to Dallas for their Wildcard game before meeting with Richard today for their interview.

Richard, 39, began his coaching career with the Seahawks back in 2008 as a graduate assistant. He worked his way up to defensive in 2015 and spent the three seasons in charge of the Seahawks’ defense before parting ways last year.

The Cowboys later hired Richard as their defensive backs coach/passing game coordinator.
