Cowboys LB Anthony Spencer Could Be Out Longer Than Expected

Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan mentioned that OLB Anthony Spencer could end up missing more time because of his strained pectoral muscle.

“That’s a longer injury than people realize,” said Ryan, via ESPN Dallas. “It’s up to a six-week injury, I’ve heard, or even longer. That’s a big thing. He’s working hard every day, but he’s just going to have to get well. Once he is we’ll play him, but if he’s not we obviously can’t do it even though the kid wants to play. We just can’t do it.”

Spencer was franchised by the Cowboys back in February, so his performance this season is crucial to securing a long-term deal. Hopefully for him, he’s able to return in the not-to-distant future.

We have him listed as the No. 25 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
