Cowboys Officially Rule Out Dez Bryant For Week 7

According to Adam Schefter, the Cowboys have officially ruled WR Dez Bryant out of Week 7’s game, as he is still recovering from a foot injury he sustained in the first game of the season.

Yesterday, reports mentioned that Bryant did not travel with the team, but still had a chance to suit up on Sunday. However, it appears as though Dallas would prefer to hold him out at least one more week to ensure he isn’t at risk of a setback.

The Cowboys had pinpointed Week 7 as a return date for Bryant since he first sustained the injury, but medical professionals had said that this was likely Dallas being overly optimistic about their star receiver.

Instead, many believes Bryant was likely to miss somewhere between 8-12 weeks, depending on how the bone healed, but there was a lot of optimism from the team that it will be less than anticipated.

Bryant, 26, signed a massive five-year, $70 million contract that included $45 million guaranteed with the Cowboys this summer.

On the season, Bryant has appeared in just one game and caught five passes for 48 yards receiving and no touchdowns.

We’ll have more regarding Bryant returning to the Cowboys as the news is available.
