Cowboys Place TE Connor Hamlett On Injured Reserve

The Dallas Cowboys officially placed TE Connor Hamlett on the injured reserve list after passing through waivers unclaimed on Wednesday.

Hamlett, 25, wound up going undrafted out of Oregon State before signing on with the Jaguars. Unfortunately, he was among the Jaguars’ final roster cuts coming out of the preseason but later signed on to the Eagles’ practice squad during the season.

After a brief stint on the Saints’ practice squad, Hamlett signed a future/reserve contract with the Browns. However, he was once again unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason before later signing on to the Browns’ practice squad.

The Browns promoted to their active roster before cutting him loose and re-signing him to their practice squad. The Cowboys signed Hamlett off the Browns’ practice squad then re-signed him to a one-year futures contract.

Dallas decided to waive him on Tuesday.

In 2016, Hamlett appeared in three games and caught one pass for 17 yards receiving and one touchdown.
