Cowboys Placing WR Dez Bryant On Season-Ending IR, Will Undergo Surgery

Cowboys HC Jason Garrett told reporters on Wednesday that they are placing WR Dez Bryant on season-ending injured reserve, per David Helman.

Garrett added that Bryant will undergo surgery on both his foot and ankle over the next week, per Clarence Hill.

Bryant, 27, is in the first year of his five-year, $70 million contract that inclued $45 million guaranteed. He’ll make a base salary of $3 million this season to go along with another $9 million in 2016.

In 2015, Bryant appeared in nine games and recorded 31 receptions for 401 yards receiving and three touchdowns for the Cowboys. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 57 receiver out of 119 qualifying players.
