Cowboys Players On The Chopping Block

Now that we have an idea of what the 2011 salary cap ($120 million) will be, rumors regarding teams that are near or over the cap are beginning to surface. With the Dallas Cowboys are sitting at $137.4 million you can expect to see some players getting cut as soon as teams can begin addressing their rosters.

Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express-News suggests that OT Marc Colombo, RB Marion Barber, CB Terence Newman, LB Bradie James,G Leonard Davis and LB Keith Brooking could all be on the chopping block.

Dallas finds themselves in tough situation with WR Roy Williams who is set to make $12.9 million for the upcoming season. Releasing him would cause them to take a subsiquent hit to their cap so they’ll have to get creative if they’re going to be land some players that can fill some needs.
