Cowboys RB Joseph Randle Is Facing 1-2 Game Suspension

Todd Archer and Adam Schefter are reporting that Cowboys RB Joseph Randle is facing discipline for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy.

According to the report, Randle met with NFL investigators this summer and within the past week regarding  an incident that occurred in Wichita, Kansas back in February, where Randle was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after police received a call for domestic violence with a weapon after an incident with Randle and the mother of his son.

The mother of Randle’s son said he broke a car window in an argument and threatened her with a gun with their son nearby. However, charges were later dropped, but he still faces sanctions from the NFL.

The NFL has conducted their own investigation into the matter.

Archer and Schefter mention that Randle may only be fined for the matter, but it’s considered more likely he will be suspended, possibly for multiple games.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media confirms the report and adds that Randle could receive a one- or two-game suspension from the league.

The was the second arrest for Randle in a matter of four months.

Beyond that David Moore of the Dallas Morning News reports that Randle was upset after he was demoted from the starting lineup and abruptly left the team’s practice facility Wednesday afternoon.

Randle is expected to return Thursday to meet with the coaching staff, but wasn’t able to be located for his scheduled for treatment.

Randle, 23, is in the third year of his four-year, $2.349 million rookie contract that included a $188,820 signing bonus. He stands to make base salaries of $585,000 and $675,000 over the next two years.

This season, Randle has appeared in six games and ran for 313 yards on 76 carries (4.1 YPC) to go along with 10 receptions for 87 yards receiving and four touchdowns.
