Cowboys Re-Sign DE Lavar Edwards, Waive LB Korey Toomer

The Cowboys have re-signed DE Lavar Edwards and placed LB Korey Toomer on waivers, according to Todd Archer.

Dallas cut Edwards earlier in week as they signed OT Tony Hills to their active roster following the injury to RT Doug Free.

Edwards came over in a trade with the Titans in which the Cowboys parted with a conditional seventh-round pick in return for Edwards at the end of August. However, he has already been cut and re-signed on multiple occasions since joining the Cowboys.

Edwards, 24, was a fifth-round pick of the Titans last year. During his rookie season, Edwards recorded nine tackles and one pass defense while appearing in seven games.

On the season, Edwards has appeared in two games, but has yet to record a single statistic.

Toomer, 25, is a former fifth round pick of the Seahawks. He spent three years in Seattle before he was among their final roster cuts a few months ago. This season, Toomer has appeared in just one game and hasn’t recorded a single statistic.
