Cowboys Re-Sign DE Lavar Edwards, Cut LB Keith Smith

The Dallas Cowboys announced Tuesday that they have re-signed DE Lavar Edwards to their active roster and waived Keith Smith.

Dallas released Edwards this past weekend to make room for LB Keith Smith.

The Cowboys sent a conditional seventh-round pick to the Titans in return for Edwards at the end of August.

Edwards, 24, was a fifth-round pick of the Titans last year. He still has three years remaining on his four-year, $2.36 million contract and will make a base salary of $495,000 for the upcoming season.

During his rookie season, Edwards recorded nine tackles and one pass defense while appearing in seven games.
