Cowboys Re-sign DT Jay Ratliff

Pro Football Talk reports that the Dallas Cowboys have re-signed DT Jay Ratliff to a five-year extension that will keep him in Dallas for the next seven years. La Canfora adds that the deal is for $40 million in new money which includes $18M guarantees.

Ratliff has made the Pro Bowl the last three season so you can see why the Cowboys were eager to get this deal done. Jerry Jones mentioned a little over a week ago that re-signing Ratliff was one of the teams priorities so the fact that it happened before their season opener isn’t all that surprising. Good move for the Cowboys as they keep their best defensive lineman under contract for the rest of his career.
