Cowboys Re-Signing LB Keith Smith

Tom Pelissero of USA Today reports that the Cowboys are re-signing LB Keith Smith following his workout with the team on Friday.

This comes a day after the team placed veteran LB Keith Rivers on the reserve/retired list, so they could use at least another linebacker for training camp.

Smith, 23, signed on with the Cowboys as an as an undrafted free agent out of San Jose State. He was placed on waivers just a few days after the recent NFL Draft.

In 2014, Smith was on and off of the team’s practice squad, but wound up appearing in eight games for the Cowboys and recorded eight tackles and a forced fumble.
