Cowboys Reach Agreement With Play-Caller Scott Linehan

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported late last night that the Cowboys have reached an agreement with  play caller and passing game coordinator Scott Linehan.

This comes less than a day after reports had mentioned that offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Bill Callahan will not be re-signing with the Cowboys during their exclusive negotiating window and will instead explore other opportunities in the NFL.

The Cowboys brought Linehan in last year after he had spent the previous five seasons with the Lions as their offensive coordinator.

With Linehan calling plays, the team found a much better balance in 2014, which say QB Tony Romo post a league-leading passer rating of 113.2 and RB DeMarco Murray lead the league in rushing.

More importantly, the offensive production played a big role in them not only winning their division, but also winning a Wildcard game against Detroit.

Dallas has done a good job of retaining their coaching staff thus far as they’ve also locked up HC Jason Garrett and DC Rod Marinelli.
