Cowboys Sign RT Doug Free To A Three-Year, $15M Deal

Todd Archer of ESPN reports that the Cowboys and RT Doug Free have reached an agreement on a three-year contract.

Archer adds that Free receives a three-year contract worth $15 million and includes $6 million in guaranteed money. He’ll carry a $3 million cap figure for the 2015 season.

This move likely signals the end of Jermey Parnell‘s time in Dallas, as the team had said that they would probably only be able to keep one of them.

Free, 31, signed a four-year, $32 million deal that included $17 million guaranteed with the Cowboys back in 2011. There has a lot of talk shortly after he signed the contract that he could be a cap casualty, but Free reworked his contract last year to remain with the team.

Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 21 offensive tackle in the league last season, which includes positive ratings in both run and pass-protection.

We had Free listed as the No. 32 player in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
