Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports that the Cowboys and Redskins are both interested in signing free agent S Dashon Goldson.
- Garafolo finds it surprising that Goldson is even available, given that he’s one of the best free agents still out there.
Both teams have been mentioned as options for Goldson since he became available, but there really hasn’t been all that much buzz about him in recent weeks.
It’s worth mentioning that signing Goldson to a contract wouldn’t factor into a team’s 2017 compensatory picks.
Goldson, 31, was in the the fourth year of his five-year, $41.25 million contract that included $22 million guaranteed when he was released in a move that freed up $8 million in available cap space for the Redskins.
In 2015, Goldson appeared in 15 games for the Redskins and recorded 110 tackles, one interception returned for a touchdown, a forced fumble and three pass defenses for Washington.
