Cowboys Reportedly In Trade Market For CB Help Following Scandrick Injury

Jason Cole of B/R reports that the Cowboys are shopping around in the trade market for cornerback help following the season-ending injured sustained by Orlando Scandrick.

A Cowboys’ source said that the loss of Scandrick could actually be worse for Dallas than the Packers losing Pro Bowl WR Jordy Nelson for the season, mainly due to their lack of depth at corner.

According to Cole, the Cowboys aren’t necessarily looking to trade for a starting cornerback, but at least someone who’s capable of stepping in and playing if needed.

One last note regarding the Cowboys cornerback situation: Cole mentions that Dallas just isn’t confident enough in former first-round pick Morris Claiborne to be the kind of player who can fill in for Scandrick.

The Cowboys used another first-round pick on a defensive back this year in Byron Jones, so there’s at least a chance he could step up and help mitigate the loss of Scandrick to some degree.

Cole didn’t name any players or potential trade partners to keep an eye, but we’ll pass along any updates as they’re available.
