Cowboys & Seahawks Had Conversations About Earl Thomas?

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Seahawks did not make any calls regarding S Earl Thomas.

According to Jean-Jacques Taylor, the Cowboys had some conversations With the Seahawks about a trade for S Earl Thomas.

However, Seattle has reportedly set a very high price and Thomas wants is looking for a contract that leaves him among the NFL’s highest-paid safeties. With this in mind, Taylor says that trade talks between the two teams “never got serious.”

Last year heard regarding Thomas, Mike Silver of NFL Media reported that the Seahawks will listen to trade offers for him, but they would obviously be seeking a lot in return for him.

Ian Rapoport previously explained that the Seahawks would prefer to sign Thomas to a new long-term deal to keep him in Seattle for the foreseeable future. Rapoport added Thomas is “firmly in their plans for the 2018 season.

Thomas, 28, is a former first-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2010. He’s entering the final year of his five-year, $44.725 million contract that includes $27.725 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $8.5 million for the 2018 season.

In 2017, Thomas has appeared in 14 games and recorded 88 tackles, two interceptions with one being returned for a touchdown, a forced fumble and seven pass defenses. ProFootballFocus rated him as the No. 9 overall safety out of 86 qualifying players.
