Cowboys See CB Mike Jenkins As “A Vital Part” Of Their Plan

According to Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, they have no intentions of trading CB Mike Jenkins at this point in time.

In fact,  Jones referred to Jenkins as “a vital part of our plan . . . a very critical role in what we want to be defensively.”

Jenkins is not only this year, but a long-term player here as far as I’m concerned,” Jones said, via DallasCowboys.com.

Jenkins is currently rehabilitating his surgically repaired shoulder, but once healthy, he joins what is now a very talented group of defensive backs, following the additions of Brandon Carr and Morris Claiborne. Playing a limited role in the team’s defense could end up being a great thing Jenkins, as it should some of the pressure on him and give him an opportunity to narrow his focus.
