Cowboys Sign Rookie DE Michael Sam To Their Practice Squad

Clarence Hill of the Star-Telegram reports that the Cowboys have officially signed former Rams seventh-round pick DE Michael Sam to their practice squad.

The Cowboys will hold a press conference in the coming hours to announce the move.

Sam flew to Dallas last night to take a physical for the team and it appears as though everything has checked out.

  • Ian Rapoport adds that Sam is expected to participate in the Cowboys’ Wednesday practice.

Dallas could really use some help regarding their pass-rush, so we’ll have to see if Sam is able to show enough in the coming weeks to get the call up to the active roster at some point during the season.

Sam recorded three sacks during the preseason, and said that he’s confident he can play in the NFL.

During his four years at Missouri, Sam recorded 111 tackles, 32.5 sacks, two interceptions, and five forced fumbles.
