Cowboys Sign Second-Round Pick DE Randy Gregory

The Dallas Cowboys have signed second-round DE Randy Gregory to a four-year contract on Wednesday, according to Rand Getlin of Yahoo! Sports.

This leaves CB Byron Jones, OT Chaz Green, and ILB Damien Wilson as the last remaining draft picks from the Cowboys’ 2015 draft class to sign their rookie agreements.

Gregory will be one of the more interesting 2015 draft picks to watch over the next few years, as he had top-10 talent, but fell to the back end of round two due to off-the-field concerns.

According to OverTheCap.com, Gregory is projected to receive a four-year contract worth $3,845,956, which includes a signing bonus of $1,057,060.

During his two years at Nebraska, Gregory recorded 120 tackles, 25.5 tackles for a loss, 17.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, four pass defenses and one defensive touchdown.

  1. Wow… imagine if he had passed that January drug screen, he’d be signing for at least 5x that amount.
I expect that’s a lesson he’ll hold onto for a while. But in 3 years he can sign the REAL contract, a Suh-per sized deal. Hopefully, he’ll have a couple of Pro Bowls under his belt and we’ll have the cap space to make him a competitive offer.
