Cowboys Sign TE Dallas Walker

Angelo Wright, the agent for TE Dallas Walker, announced via his Twitter account Thursday that his client has signed on with the Cowboys.

The Cowboys had an available roster spot following their recent decision to release veteran QB Kyle Orton.

The idea of adding a tight end has previously come up as Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas mentioned that they could still use a blocking tight end.

Walker, 26, signed on with the Chargers last year as an undrafted free agent out of Western Michigan. He lasted until August before he was ultimately waived.

Dallas has Jason Wittin, Gavin Escobar and James Hanna as their top-three options at tight end. Walker figures to compete with Jordan Najvar during training camp.
