Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray Doubtful To Play In Week 8, Felix Jones Expected To Start Again

ESPN’s Ed Werder joined this afternoon’s SportsCenter and mentioned that a source has informed him that Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray is “doubtful” for Week 8’s game against the Giants.

Clarence Hill reports that Felix Jones is expected to get the start this weekend.

Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett is unsure if running back DeMarco Murray will be able to practice Wednesday, per Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News.

“We’ll wait and see on that,” Garrett said, via George. “We’re certainly optimistic. He’s proven to be someone who heals quickly. We’ll monitor him day by day, but we’ll have to wait and see.”

It would seem that Murray’s foot is healing rather quickly if there is a chance he could practice this week. While it would be great if Murray returned to the field as quickly as possible, the Cowboys will most likely take their time with their young running back. Even with the possibility of Felix Jones being out Sunday, don’t expect Murray to be rushed back to the field.
