Jerry Jones Calls Report They’re Shopping CB Orlando Scandrick “Completely Erroneous”

Update:

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones referred to the report that they’re shopping CB Orlando Scandrick as being “completely erroneous.”

“Absolutely not,” Jones said, via ESPN.com. “I don’t know who started that. That’s completely erroneous. We heard things and that’s never been the case. No one in this organization has ever insinuated or implied that we’d do anything with Orlando other than have him on the field.

“He’s an integral part of our plans this year,” Jones said. “We need him and what he can bring to the secondary.”

According to Josina Anderson, a Cowboys’ source tells her that Dallas isn’t “actively” shopping CB Orlando Scandrick.

People have asked about him. We’re listening,” Anderson’s source said.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Cowboys are fielding trade offers for veteran CB Orlando Scandrick.

Scandrick, 30, is a former fifth-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2008. He is in the third year of his five-year, $20 million contract and set to make a base salary of $3 million for the 2017 season.

Scandrick suffered a season-ending knee injury back in 2015 and was placed on injured reserve.

In 2016, Scandrick totaled 46 total tackles, two sack, eight pass defenses, three forced fumbles, and one interceptions for the Cowboys over the course of 12 games.
