Cowboys Waive LBs Keith Smith & Will Smith On Waivers, Sign LB Donnie Baggs

The Dallas Cowboys placed linebackers Keith Smith and Will Smith on waivers Thursday, according to the NFL transactions release.

• The Cowboys also signed S Danny McCray and LB Donnie Baggs to contracts.

Keith Smith, 23, signed on with the Cowboys as an as an undrafted free agent out of San Jose State.

In 2014, Smith was on and off of the team’s practice squad, but wound up appearing in eight games for the Cowboys and recorded eight tackles and a forced fumble.

Will Smith, 24, was selected in the seventh-round of last year’s NFL Draft. During his first year with the Cowboys, he too was on and off of the team’s practice squad. However, he never appeared in an NFL game.

As for Baggs, he’s an undrafted free agent out of Texas A&M. This will be his first opportunity in the NFL.
