Cowboys Waive WR/KR Quincy McDuffie, Sign C Ross Burbank

The Dallas Cowboys have placed WR/KR Quincy McDuffie on waivers Friday, according to his agent Brett Tessler. Todd Archer adds that the Cowboys also signed C Ross Burbank to a contract.

McDuffie, 26, originally signed on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of UCF back in 2013. He was waived with an injury designation after a few months in Denver and the Broncos eventually cut him loose at the start of the regular season.

McDuffie later signed on with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats for the 2014 season and spent two years with the team before he joined the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for last season.

The Cowboys signed him to a future/reserve contract back in January.

During his CFL career, McDuffie has caught 25 passes for 249 yards receiving and one touchdown over the course of 15 games. His largest contributions have come as a kick returner, as he totaled 1,212 yards on 45 attempts and two touchdowns. McDuffie also added another 341 punt return yards and a touchdown.

Burbank, 24, originally signed on with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Virginia back in May of last year. He lasted until the end of August when he was among their early roster cuts.

The Seahawks later signed him to their practice squad and brought him back on a future/reserve contract this past January. However, Burbank was waived a few weeks after this year’s draft.

Burbank has yet to appear in an NFL game.
