The Dallas Cowboys waived LB Keith Smith on Monday, according to the NFL Transactions release.
Smith, 23, signed on with the Cowboys as an as an undrafted free agent out of San Jose State back in May of last year. However, he was placed on waivers just a few days after the recent NFL Draft.
Dallas elected to bring him back for the start of the preseason, and managed to make the 53-man roster. However, he was placed on waivers over a month ago and later added to their practice squad.
It’s likely Smith is headed back to the Cowboys practice squad.
This season, Smith has appeared in four games, but has yet to record a single statistic.
