Cowboys Waive/Injured WR Corey Washington & LB John Lotulelei, Sign Two

The Dallas Cowboys announced Friday that they’ve waived WR Corey Washington and LB John Lotulelei with injury designations and signed WR Karel Hamilton and LB Lamar Louis to contracts.

Washington, 25, originally signed on with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of Newberry back in May of 2014. He lasted just a few weeks with the Cardinals before he was waived and later claimed by the Giants.

After a year in New York, Washington had brief stints with the Redskins and Lions before signing on with the Falcons back in July of 2015. Unfortunately, he was among Atlanta’s final roster cuts coming out of the preseason.

The Bills wound up signing him to their practice squad in October and Buffalo brought him back on a one-year deal this past March. After being cut loose a few months, Washington later signed on with the Chiefs before being cut loose a few weeks ago.

Dallas just signed him to a contract not long ago.

In 2014, Washington appeared in 14 games for the Giants and caught five passes for 52 yards receiving and a touchdown.

Louis, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of LSU. He managed to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason but was unfortunately waived with an injury designation.

Louis was active for the team’s season-opener but did not record a single statistic. The Cardinals waived him with an injury designation a few weeks into the regular season and later cut him from injured reserve with a settlement.

He had a brief stint on the Saints’ practice squad before signing on with the Ravens in December of last year and returning to them on an exclusive rights deal. Unfortunately, Baltimore waived him last week.

In 2016, Louis has appeared in one game but did not record a statistic.
