Cowboys Will Meet With Anthony Spencer But Tag Seems Likely

Calvin Watkins of ESPN Dallas reports that the Cowboys will likely meet with OLB Anthony Spencer before Monday to discuss a long-term contract but the franchise tag appears to be a likely option for the team.

Dallas has shown plenty of interest in retaining Spencer despite the fact that his production hasn’t been as good as they were hoping it would be when they drafted him the first-round years ago. This move will run the Cowboys $8.8 million for the 2012 season but they should still have enough room to address some other needs.
