Cowboys Worked Out DL Lawrence Okoye

According to ESPN’s Todd Archer, the Cowboys brought in seven free agents for workouts on Tuesday including DL Lawrence Okoye.

Okoye just recently became available, so it didn’t take long for him to draw some interest.

Okoye, 24, originally signed on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent back in 2013. He was considered to be a developmental project, seeing as he was a former rugby and track star.

Okoye spent a little over two years in San Francisco before he was waived at the start of the 2015 season and later added to the Cardinals practice squad.

The Jets elected to make Okoye an offensive lineman upon adding him to their practice squad last year and brought him back on a future/reserve contract in January. However, they waived him last week to make room for DE Shelby Harris.

Okoye has yet to appear in an NFL game.
