Cowboys Working Out LBs Quayshawn Nealy & James Morris

Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News reports that the Cowboys are also bringing in linebackers Quayshawn Nealy and James Morris for workouts on Tuesday.

Earlier, George reported that LB Emmanuel Acho was trying out for the team.

Nealy, 24, originally signed on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Georgia Tech back in May of last year. He lasted just a few months before the Seahawks cut him coming out of the preseason.

After a brief stint with the Buccaneers, Nealy signed on to the Cardinals’ practice squad and later returned to the team on a future/reserve contract this past January. Unfortunately, the Cardinals elected to waive him last week to make room for LB Donald Butler.

During his four-year college career, Nealy recorded 289 tackles, 3.5 sacks, a forced fumble, six recoveries, eight interceptions with three being returned for touchdowns and 10 pass defenses.

Morris, 24, wound up signing on with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of Iowa back in 2014. He was able to make the 53-man roster during his rookie season and returned to New England on an exclusive rights deal last year.

However, he was among their final roster cuts before later signing to the Giants practice squad. New York elected to cut Morris loose back in May.

In 2015, Morris appeared in six games for the Giants and recorded two tackles.
