Cowboys Working On Long-Term Deal For CB Mike Jenkins?

Calvin Watkins of ESPN Dallas reports that CB Mike Jenkins’ agent Drew Rosenhaus has approached the Cowboys about a long-term contract extension for Jenkins.

Jenkins has shown signs of being a quality player at times but has struggled with consistency and injuries in recent years. In 2009, he recorded five interceptions, but finished the 2010 and 2011 seasons with only one interception.

Rosenhaus believes that Jenkins should be ready for the start of training camp in late-July.

Jenkins is due about $1 million for the 2012 season and the addition of CB Brandon Carr should really help him next season.
