Cowboys Working Out LBs Keith Smith, Lawrence Wilson, & Ashlee Palmer

Todd Archer reports that the Cowboys are bringing in free agent LBs Keith Smith, Lawrence Wilson, and Ashlee Palmer for workouts.

This comes a day after the team placed veteran LB Keith Rivers on the reserve/retired list, so they could use at least another linebacker for training camp.

Palmer, 29, originally signed on with the Bills as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi back in 2009. He last around seven months with the team before he was waived and later claimed by the Lions in February of 2010.

This is the first reported interest in Palmer since free agency opened several months ago.

In 2014, Palmer appeared in all 16 games for the Lions, but recorded just 12 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and two pass defenses.

Smith, 23, signed on with the Cowboys as an as an undrafted free agent out of San Jose State.

In 2014, Smith was on and off of the team’s practice squad, but wound up appearing in eight games for the Cowboys and recorded eight tackles and a forced fumble.
