Ian Rapoport of NFL Media mentions that the more information he obtains regarding Cowboys WR Dez Bryant and his knee injury, the more it seems like a “long-shot” he plays in Week 4.

Rapoport adds that the Cowboys are hoping there is “minimal risk” for Bryant to suit up this weekend, but they are also aware of the possibility it becomes a three-week injury.

Yesterday, Cowboys HC Jason Garrett announced during a conference call that Bryant is dealing with a hairline fracture in his right knee.

“We don’t think it’s something that going to keep him out for an extended period of time,” Garrett said. “But it’s going to a day-by-day, week-by-week situation.

Garrett added that he’s still hopeful Bryant will be able to play against the 49ers this weekend.

Bryant has reportedly been staying off of his knee and is currently on crutches, but the expectation is that he’ll be a game-time decision.

According to David Chao, if Bryant has a hairline fracture in the weight bearing portion of his knee, it will be a multi-week absence, as he would be risking displacement of the bone.

Bryant’s knee appeared to flex a bit as he was tackled picking up a first down. It looked like Bryant was headed to the locker room, but he managed to return to the game.

Bryant, 27, is a former first-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2010. He’s currently in the second year of his five-year, $70 million contract that includes $45 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $9 million for the 2016 season.

In 2016, Bryant has caught 11 passes for 150 yards receiving and one touchdown for the Cowboys.

We’ll have more regarding Bryant’s injury as the news is available.
