Dan Quinn’s Second Interview With Falcons “Went Very Well”

Update:

Rick Smith, the agent for Seahawks DC Dan Quinn, tells The Associated Press on Tuesday that his client’s interview with the Falcons “went very well” and there’s “definitely mutual interest.

Quinn is only the second candidate to get a follow up interview with the Falcons, but Atlanta won’t be able to offer him the job for another few weeks.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter previously reported that the Falcons are hiring former Browns OC Kyle Shanahan as their offensive coordinator.

The Falcons are smart to move quickly on assistant coaches, seeing as a number of teams are still in the market for coordinators.

Lions DC Teryl Austin is also a finalist for the job, but the addition of Shanahan is a good indication that they are set on hiring Quinn.

We’ll have more updates regarding Quinn as the news is available.

Jason Cole reports that Dan Quinn to the Falcons is “99 percent done” and the two sides just need to work out the remaining financial terms of the agreement.

Quinn has his follow up interview with the Falcons today, but every expectation has been that he’ll be their next head coach.

It’s worth mentioning that the two sides can’t officially hire Quinn until after the Super Bowl. Although, they should have everything in place this week, so that it can be submitted as soon as the rules permit.
