Jets Rule Darrelle Revis Out For Week 2

The Jets have officially ruled CB Darrelle Revis out for Sunday’s game against the Steelers.

Revis suffered a concussion towards the end of Week 1’s win over the Buffalo Bills. There was some optimism during the week that would be available for Sunday’s game, but he ultimately was not cleared for contact and will not make the trip with the team to Pittsburgh.

This will definitely apply some pressure to the Jets secondary, and Antonio Cromartie in particular.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Jets CB Darrelle Revis is expected to play this weekend against the Pittsburgh Steelers, despite the fact he suffered what the team called a “mild” concussion, via NFL.com.

Essentially he looks to be a go at this point in time,” Schefter said.

Revis did a great job on Bills WR Stevie Johnson, even though he has struggled to defend him in year’s past. The Jets could really use him against one of leagues best receiving tandems in Mike Wallace and Antonio Brown.
