Darrelle Revis Unlikely To Be Traded Until A Week Before The Draft?

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk writes that a trade for CB Darrelle Revis may not come until about a week or so before the NFL Draft.

Florio mentions that NFL teams would likely consider all of their options in the free agency before deciding to get seriously involved in a trade for Revis. On top of that, Revis would be able to demonstrate that his torn ACL has improving as expected.

The Jets are reportedly concerned that Revis could sign with rival teams like the Giants, Dolphins, or Bills in the event that they’re unable to sign him long-term or trade him at some point during the offseason.

San Francisco has downplayed their interest in Revis after rumors began circulating almost immediately following the news that they had an agreement in place with the Chiefs for Alex Smith. For what it’s worth, Revis recently mentioned that it would be “awesome” to play for the 49ers.
