Darren McFadden’s Injury Is Not That Bad

Steve Corkran of the Oakland Tribune writes that Raiders RB Darren McFadden will “likely will be available” to play in the game following Oakland’s Week 8 bye. Corkran adds that head coach Hue Jacksonopted against putting McFadden back into the game for fear of losing his most potent offensive weapon for the long term.”

McFadden wound up spraining his foot in the first quarter of Sunday’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. While the decision to hold McFadden out of the game likely impacted a number of fantasy match ups, it was probably the right call. McFadden will know have two weeks to heal in time for Week 9’s game against Tim Tebow and their division rival Broncos. Michael Bush will continue to get a share of the carries even with a fully healed McFadden.
