Players on the team have already started singing praises for Garrard, including starting center Mike Pouncey.
“Garrard has been great, has been the main guy running with the first team,” said Pouncey. “He brings leadership. Matt Moore did a good job last year but when Garrard is in, it’s a whole different tempo.”
The battle for he starting quarterback spot may last all of training camp and the entire pre-season, and while Garrard is the early favorite leading up to training camp, Moore isn’t far behind. Should Garrard be declared starter for week one, he would be the 17th different starter for the Dolphins since 2000, the most in the league. And while the Dolphins aren’t expected to do much this season, their QB race should be an interesting one to follow.
