David Garrard Returns To Practice

Dolphins quarterback David Garrard returned to practice Monday, according to Ben Volin of the Palm Beach Post.

Garrard had been recovering from a knee surgery that he underwent close to four weeks ago. He’s continued to progress without any setbacks and is set to resume throwing, while easing back into football activities.

He’ll until Sunday to strengthen his argument that he should be the Dolphins backup quarterback behind rookie Ryan Tannehill. Sunday is the day when 2012 salaries become guaranteed, so the Dolphins will have to make a decision on whether to keep Garrard or Matt Moore as the Dolphins backup quarterback. Moore’s name has been floated as a potential trade possibility, so a strong showing for Garrard could help him secure the backup job.
