DeAngelo Williams Future In Carolina

Despite not being traded before the NFL trade deadline, DeAngelo Williams future in Carolina seems to be a little foggy. He was rumored as a possible trade target and it was reported that multiple teams checked in the running back availability. ESPN’s Adam Schefter has given us his take on the situation.

Schefter points out that Carlina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson will not allow Williams or other key players to leave unless he is forced. In the case of Williams, Richardson plans on discussing a long-term once the new CBA is signed and set in place. Even if the Panthers are not successful in re-signing Williams the team will likely franchise him which will guarantee that he will be with the team for at least one season.
